** This is REALLY LONG compared to my other posts. I had to document this experience so that I would REMEMBER the Goodness of God in my life. **
So I had felt a migraine coming for a few days. I have a few symptoms I notice a few days before and some CRAZY aura things I get right before one.
I knew we had a big cinnamon roll order coming up on Saturday along with a catering dinner for 120 people Saturday evening.
I have been practicing making mini cinnamon rolls and I had a plan to make 1000 mini cinnamon rolls. -- little did I know my plan would get thrown out the window quickly
Well Wednesday came and I was ready to do my plan. I got up as usual and made 4 dozen cinnamon rolls. I planned to come back during quiet time to start on the big order. The Spirit said through a thought in my mind, "Don't make any more cinnamon rolls today." I listened and did other things. I could feel the headache coming on and I prayed that if I needed to have a migraine that it would be on Thursday.
So when I ended up with one I was not surprised. I took extra good care of myself and as I laid in bed ALL DAY Thursday, I kept trying to figure out a plan to do the 1000 cinnamon rolls AND the catered dinner for 120 people Saturday. I felt such a peaceful feeling. I knew that the Lord would help me.
So Friday morning I woke at 5:00 am per the usual. I did my normal morning things and got to the restaurant at 5:30. Well I got a double batch of Cinnamon rolls mixed up and raising. I sat down and then got a visual disturbance and knew another migraine was on its way. I started to pray and cry. I called Jordan to have him bring me my medicine. He came over with it and we decided I would just keep powering through until I couldn't any more. I had the double batch ALL ready to go ( it makes 96 normal cinnamon rolls) and knew that I could do it the fastest. So that is exactly what I did. By now it was 6:30. I prayed and knew that the Lord would magnify my efforts and help me. I started making cinnamon rolls. The visual disturbance grew larger and larger until I could see out of one eye. Then the numbness started. It started in my fingers and went up both arms one at a time. It was an odd feeling to make cinnamon rolls with numb arms and not being able to see well, but I have made them SO MANY TIMES it was fine. I just kept going. Praying and crying as I went. Then about 7:15 the nausea came. I did the best I could but by 7:30 I couldn't stop throwing up. I felt like I had given EVERYTHING I had and it was time to sleep. So I called Jordan to come get me. He had just dropped the big kids off at the bus and came for me. I got in the car and he quickly counted how many I had done. He excitedly came to the car and said I had already made 500 mini cinnamon rolls, and there was still dough there. I was BLOWN away. I KNEW this was the Lord's plan. ALL my doubt and fear of not being able to get the order done by 7:45 am on Saturday were gone. This was the Lord's plan ALL along. I had just witnessed a MIRACLE
Jordan got me home and he got the little ones up and watching a show. He went back to the restaurant to finish the remaining dough (he did 200 more in an hour) I went to bed. As I spent ANOTHER day in bed. I thanked my Heavenly Father for ALL he had done. He helped me to see that "my plan" would not have worked for many reasons and the getting the migraine had really helped me to be so less stressed then if I would have tried my plan
I didn't need to start making cinnamon rolls Wednesday - They would not have stayed good until Saturday. I would have been SO frustrated at all the wasted time and effort.
I also didn't need to start making them on Thursday - I would of had no way of storing them for an entire day.
I had such a peaceful feeling going into Friday. I knew that this was all the time I had left and the Lord would help me. I knew I was a part of something bigger than me. I chose to trust in him and his plan instead of be so stressed and worried.
Our amazing employees frosted them all during the day and boxed them up.
We decided that we would go over to The Red Front and make a single batch of dough and get the remaining 300 done really quick together after dinner while Brynlee watched the kids.
So we enjoyed the remainder of our day. Not stressed, or worried at all.
We had the BEST time making the remaining rolls that night. - Just ignore the sun glasses my head was still really hurting.
I would roll and Jordan would cut and place them on the sheets
We got the last 300 done in 1 hour. I was able to quickly frost and box the remaining rolls.
They turned out PERFECT.
This was such a HUGE testimony building experience for me.
Catering is a huge change for me. I like a plan and I hate to do things last minute. A LOT of catering is done "last minute" and it stresses me OUT. (you can't cook/make/bake food too far in advance) This experience reminded me that the Lord is the one in charge. If I will trust in his plan and timing he will ALWAYS help me. It won't always be easy but it will be the best it can be.
